Warning sign - yellow triangle
Electrical Safety Signs
Electricity needs respect, and signs help people remember. These printable electrical safety signs cover the everyday notices: electrical equipment for authorised persons only, isolate before opening, a warning for electric fences, a do-not-use tag for faulty kit, switch off when not in use, and a fill-in PAT tested label. Print on A5, A4 or A3. For high-voltage and electrical hazard triangles, see the linked pages.

Print tips
- Print at "actual size" or 100%, not "fit to page", so the margins stay even.
- Use thicker paper or card (160gsm or more) if the sign will be handled.
- For outdoor or long-term use, laminate it or buy a rigid version.
Where to use it
- Plant rooms, switch rooms and meter cupboards
- Workshops and kitchens
- Farms, paddocks and gardens with electric fencing
- Offices and shops labelling tested equipment
- Anywhere kit is out of use until repaired
Questions
Does a PAT label prove the equipment is safe?
No. It records that the appliance was tested on a date; it is not a guarantee.
Do I have to put up an electric fence sign?
Check the fence maker's instructions, especially where a fence runs next to a public path.
Is this the same as a high-voltage sign?
No; see the high voltage and electrical warning pages.
Can I use these without a qualified electrician?
The signs are only notices. Electrical work should be done by a competent person.
