How to use them
- Pick the band that matches your pupils and print the set for that band.
- Put "What is bullying?" and "Be an upstander" where pupils queue or gather, such as corridors, dining halls and form rooms.
- Fill in the write-in box on "Is someone bullying you?" with the named adults pupils can go to in your school.
- Use the class promise as a shared activity: read it together, discuss it and let pupils sign the printed copy.
- Put the full set up during Anti-Bullying Week and keep your favourites up all year.
- Link the posters to your own behaviour and anti-bullying policy, which stays the authority on how your school responds.
About these posters
Younger pupils get a short "if someone is unkind" poster and a kind-hands statement. Key Stage 2 gets the core set: what bullying is, what to do if it is happening to you, how to be an upstander rather than a bystander, what to do about unkind behaviour online, three short statements and a class anti-bullying promise to fill in. Key Stage 3 and 4 get a "Is it bullying?" poster and a key terms poster covering words such as bystander and upstander. The wording is original and follows the common school description of bullying: deliberate, repeated and hard for the person to stop. One poster has a write-in box for your school's own trusted adults. Download A4 or A3 PDFs, with ink-light versions of the statements, promise and key terms.
Questions
Which age groups are the posters for?
There are posters for KS1 (ages 5 to 7), KS2 (ages 7 to 11) and KS3-4 (ages 11 to 16). Use the band chips on the page to show one band at a time.
Which helpline is on the posters?
The "Is someone bullying you?" poster gives the Childline number, 0800 1111, and childline.org.uk. Check the details on Childline's own site before you display it.
Can I add my school's contacts?
Yes. That poster has a write-in box, so you can add the names of the teachers or staff pupils should go to.
Do the posters replace our anti-bullying policy?
No. They support the conversation in class. Your school's own policy sets out how incidents are handled.
Can I print them in black and white?
Yes. The statements, the promise and the key terms poster have ink-light versions that print with outlines only.
