How to use it

  1. Download the Word file and replace the example text with your own details.
  2. Check every phone number, email address and web address twice.
  3. Print one test sheet on plain paper to check the layout and the margins.
  4. Print onto light card (about 250gsm to 300gsm if your printer allows).
  5. Cut along the dashed lines with a guillotine or a sharp knife and ruler.

About this template

There are two layouts. The first has a blue band across the top with your name, job title, phone, email and website left-aligned. The second is a plain centred design with a yellow edge, built for a shop, cafe or small trade. Both include dashed cut lines so you can trim them with a guillotine or craft knife. Download Word to edit the text, or PDF to write details by hand.

Questions

Can I print the cards at a print shop?

Yes. Export or save the Word file as PDF and take that in. Ask the shop whether they need bleed (extra colour past the cut line), because these sheets are designed for trimming at home and do not include it.

Do I need a logo?

No. These templates use text and colour only. If you have a logo, insert it in Word and make sure it fits inside the card edge.

Why is there a border on each card?

The black frame helps you cut straight. To remove it, edit the table borders in Word, or trim along the inside edge of the line.

Will every printer print right to the edge?

Home printers usually leave a margin of a few millimetres. The text sits inside the card edge so nothing important is clipped.
